That's this summer's motto. We found a house and closed on it mid March and were able to finally move in April 30th, just in time for summer. We've been blessed with a gorgeous home far nicer than the one we almost purchased and for the same cost, to boot. It's funny how things works out.

Thanksgiving is a wrap and Black Friday has passed. We didn't jump into that madness and our youngest is of the opinion that Black Friday would be better if it were called "pink Friday." Sure, why not?! We spent the day moving our belongings into a storage unit.

I'm here to share a little of my Texas with you, today. In a quick day, trip, we drove over to San Antonio to visit Natural Bridge Caverns. The Peles Castle is quite exquisite and very opulent, a much different look than the more medieval Bran Castle.
Sitting atop a pine covered hill, Peles Castle neighbors the smaller Pelisor Castle so is convenient in that you can tour two castles in one outing. I love seeing tours of old homes on blogs. Between Naps on the Porch blog has shared some of my favorite home tours so I thought I'd do my own type of home tour. Okay, so this home happens to be a castle, but a home none the less. Green Beans are probably tops on the pickled veggie list.
I found this recipe for quick pickled green beans and I gave it a try. I'm so glad I did. Not only was it super simple and quick to put together, the taste was exactly what I was looking for, too...great for snacking on or to serve as a garnish for a Bloody Mary.

Dry beans are a great staple for your pantry, inexpensive and healthy. Red beans are my favorite. This Monday I made a pot and I think that it may be my best one yet so I'll share the recipe.

Father's Day weekend required a special meal to kick it all off. Nothing says "man food" like sucking crawfish heads (Shhh, I don't partake, but that will be our secret).
