On Holiday

Just to let, y'all know that I'm visiting my mom's...in the middle of No Where, TX and her Internet goes about the speed of a snail.  Literally.  I'm typing, then I have to wait a few seconds before the letters dance across the screen.  And believe me, if the Internet can't keep up with my typing, you know it's s-l-o-w.

Well, I found a little mole skin booklet of my great grandmother's favorite recipes and so I'm handwriting them all down so that I can try them out when I get back home.  She's from Rapides Parish in Louisiana and so I'm hoping she's got some of those authentic mouth-watering creole recipes that I love.  One for "Creole Chicken" is just begging for me to try it out.  I can't wait to share.

In the mean time, I'm going to kick back in the country and enjoy the peace...maybe get a little writing done.  I ran over a two ft. rattler today and when I got back from the grocer's I saw Mr. & Mrs. Tom Turkey in all their splendor out in the front.  I'll post pictures of that, too, when I return.  Until then~
