Random Thoughts and Breakfast

Today is the last day of my summer class, but I'm not able to attend because Bebe started running a fever last night.  I've got three chapters to read during my ample time home, but all I can think about is random things.  For instance, I decided two make a fried egg for breakfast ...

and in doing so thought of this-

Welp, my brain is definitely fried, but I'm positive it's due to course overload rather than drugs aforementioned in above PSA.

I've also got my mind on this book that I couldn't resist buying last night.  It's calling out to be read.

, but I've got to resist since tomorrow is my final exam and it demands my attention.  I think the best course of action is to turn off the computer and TV.  Yep.  That's it.  I'm pulling the plug on all things electric.  Well, maybe not on the lights and AC.  After all, this is South Texas.

Happy Tuesday,

For Dad

"My Father could use a little mercy, now
The fruits of his labor fall and rot slowly on the ground
His work is almost over
It won't be long
He won't be around
I love my Father
He could use some mercy, now"- Mary Gauthier

"My brother could use a little mercy, now
He's a stranger to freedom
He's shackled to his fear and his doubt
the pain that he lives in is almost more than living will allow
I love my brother
He could use some mercy, now"

"Hope for Humanity"

I watched this video this ayem and thought it was a lovely way to start the day.  I hope you enjoy hearing this angel sing...

The article summed up the video by stating that, "when the girl's mic cut out there were (rude) cackles that were shooshed, and then the crowd picked up the where the girl was and sang in unison, aloud."  To those who cackled at a little girl brave enough to sing in front of a crowd, shame on you!  For those that lifted their voices and their hearts, God bless.

Have an inspiring day of kindness,

Coming Out of the Closet

This Christmas season something strange and magical happened.  The kiddo came out of the closet (so to speak) and confessed to not believing in Santa.  I knew this day would come, but I'm still a little bummed.  See two years ago kiddo went to see her "real" dad for Christmas and when she walked in the door from her trip, the first words out of her mouth were, "Guess what I just found out, Santa isn't real" and I'm all hunkered over the stove when she drops the bomb and I burn my wrist on the pan while hollering,"WHATAREYOUTALKINGABOUT?!"  I mean,"what would make you say that, sweetie?"
Her:  Dad just told me that Santa isn't real.
yeah, folks, on Christmas Day.
Me:  Well, what brought that up?
Her: Well, I was asking questions and he just told me
Me:  Well, I think he's wrong.  I mean I've always heard you have to believe to receive.  I think that's how that goes.
Her:  Huh?
Me:  Um, you don't get presents from Santa if you don't believe in him.
Her:  Oh. Well.  I believe, then.
Smart cookie.

Last year I think she put up a good front to ensure that Santa delivered, but this year the gig is up.  It's been a little bit of a blessing in disguise, though, because I've really enjoyed my newly enlisted Santa shopper.  We've perused stores all over town for little sissy and it's been a ton of fun.  I like how she's gotten into the spirit of making this a great first Christmas for mon petit bebe.  Shame, little bit won't really have a memory of it.  Oh well, I'll have a nice memories to share with her when she's older.

Plus, Big Sissy has learned the joy of getting to pick out what she wants in the stores, an added benefit of us both getting what we want.  Me, I don't have to worry that I've selected another bogus gift for her.

that, folks, is a look of disappointment...a failed gift.
Her, she gets what she wants.

Here are some cute videos of kiddos getting what they want for Christmas.  Hope you enjoy. Happy Holidays!

and a not so happy camper...

Capucine: Cute French Girl's Fairytale

You may have watched this video before; it's a smash!   I wish I could trap that imagination and apply it to all of my writing.  I always watch this when I need a little pick-me-up.  I hope you enjoy ; )
